Some members of the Mardela Middle and High School orchestra watched the National Symphony Orchestra perform in Washington D.C. at the Kennedy Center! The orchestra accompanied the short film "Philharmonia Fantastique: The Making of the Orchestra," which you can watch on Apple TV. It is a Grammy Award-winning soundtrack from composer Mason Bates! Afterwards, we received a private tour of the Kennedy Center's facilities. We had a fantastic time!

When you say something nice about a teacher, you make their day. But did you know that right now, if your “something nice” is a nomination for Wicomico Teacher of the Year, you could make a teacher’s day, month or even year?

Nominations open through November 25th for Wicomico Teacher of the Year

Class of 2026: Senior portraits and favorite childhood photos are due 1/23/26. All photos can be uploaded in your Class of 2026 Google Classroom. Look under the Yearbook tab and you will see Google Forms for your photo submissions. All seniors should submit one formal, one casual, and a couple childhood photos. Saturday: STEM Saturday for grades 4-8 (registration required); The Big Fall Hangout at St. James AME Zion Church (12-3 p.m.)

Sunday: Harlem Wizards, including the Wizards taking on school system teachers and staff (3 p.m.)

Monday: Try DI Night (6-7:30 p.m.)

Congratulations, Mardela Middle and High School!
We are thrilled to share some outstanding news! The Maryland State Department of Education has released the 2025 Maryland School Report Card, and Mardela Middle and High School has earned a 4-Star Rating under the MD Accountability System for the 2024–25 academic year!
This prestigious rating reflects our continued commitment to excellence, with our high school achieving a 79th percentile ranking and our middle school earning a 77th percentile ranking—both showing growth from last year’s scores of 73 and 75, respectively.
This is a tremendous accomplishment and a testament to the hard work, dedication, and collaboration of our students, staff, families, and community.
