Mardela Virtual Schedule for Wednesday

Important update on the status of Wicomico County Public Schools for Wednesday, Feb. 12:
On Wednesday, Wicomico Schools will have a virtual learning day. Students were sent home with laptops and/or other learning materials. Please check the messages from your student’s school (or the school or schools where you work) for virtual learning day instructions.
Those who work in the Central Office and school offices will work remotely on Wednesday, as informed by email before 6:30 a.m. Wednesday.
Please be safe.

Today the Wicomico County Board of Education approved a final 2024-2025 school calendar adjustment to make up for one of the days missed in January. As preferred by the most people who responded to a survey on makeup day options, and as recommended by the Superintendent and his team, the Board approved changing the Feb. 17 Presidents Day holiday to a day of school with 3-hour early dismissal.
Of the nearly 5,400 responses to the school system’s calendar adjustment survey, more (45%) favored making up a missed school day from January with a school day with 3-hour early dismissal on Monday, Feb. 17 than on either of the other two potential dates. Please plan accordingly.

The 2024 Kindness Club Teddy Bear Drive was a huge success! The MMHS Community collectively gathered over 600 stuffed animals for the children who may be having a difficult life experience a the holiday time and sheltering at HALO or Life Crisis.
The winning class that collected the most stuffed animals this year was Mrs. Abbott's class! They received a donut party prize for the whole class from the Kindness Club. The kindness club also shared donuts with school administration, administrative assistants, custodians and cafeteria staff.

The Kindness Club and all of our students are so thankful for all of our MMHS teachers every day! Please be kind and remind all of your teachers how grateful you are for them! This year The Kindness Club and the MMHS Community recognized two of our excellent educators with a surprise Peace Bomb Award. One Middle School teacher and one High School teacher were selected. Our esteemed Honorees were Dr. Brooke Keene and Mrs. Cathy Ramey!! We celebrated with Mrs. Ramey just before the holiday break, and due to the holiday, the snow days, delay days, testing days we finally celebrated with Dr. Keene! Please let these excellent teachers and all of your teachers know how much you appreciate all they do for you! We are so fortunate to have wonderful and caring staff at MMHS!
