ACE is a weekly after school club for high school focused on the core fields of Architecture, Construction, and Engineering. Each week we will focus on a different topic in one of these fields, working towards a final presentation and scholarship night. Within ACE, there are opportunities to travel, tour active job sites, meet professionals in the field, create contacts, work paid internships, and receive college scholarships!

-Hear about how to Pay for College, FAFSA and Scholarships;

Yesterday, Wicomico County Public Schools celebrated its newest educators, and we are thrilled to introduce two outstanding additions to the MMHS family.
Maria Curtis (left) will teach 6th and 7th Grade Math.
Lauren Karrh (right) will teach Biology Online and facilitate our Beyond the Limits ropes course.
Their enthusiasm, creativity, and dedication to students will make an immediate impact in our school community. We are grateful to have them on our team and look forward to all they will bring to MMHS as we work together to equip students to change their world!

Wicomico schools will hold open house events Wednesday, Aug. 26 (middle and high schools) and Thursday, Aug. 27 (elementary schools) in preparation for the opening of the 2026-2027 school year on Tuesday, Sept. 1, for most students.
Open house information for middle and high schools is listed below, followed by key dates for the start of the school year. (Information on elementary school open houses is posted separately.) If a school has posted a school supply list, a link is provided.
Schools will send out student school-year information letters on Aug. 14, with open house information included with this welcome letter.

Friday, Aug. 14: Student school year information distributed
Wednesday, Aug. 26: Family Portal opens for 2026-2027 school year, with secondary student schedules available to print. Open houses for middle and high schools afternoon/evening.
Thursday, Aug. 27: Open houses for elementary schools afternoon/evening.
Tuesday, Sept. 1: Students in grades 1-6 and Grade 9 attend school on Tuesday, Sept. 1. (Please note these exceptions: All grades attend at Pittsville Elementary & Middle. Only Grade 6 attends at Mardela Middle & High.)
Wednesday, Sept. 2: All students in grades 1-12 in school Wednesday, Sept. 2.
During the first week, Kindergarten and Prekindergarten students report as scheduled by the assigned school; detailed information will be in the welcome letter. The first day all Prekindergarten and Kindergarten students will be in school together is Tuesday, Sept. 8.
Monday, Sept. 7: Labor Day holiday, schools and Central Office closed
This is for Wicomico County students in-need from kindergarten to Grade 12. Students will receive a Free backpack along with several essential school supplies. A child must be present with an adult to receive school supplies.

The next monthly meeting of the Wicomico County Board of Education is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, August 11, 2026, in the Board of Education Auditorium at 101 Long Ave., Salisbury.
